Welcome to Durham Only

One of the most beautiful counties in England, Durham boasts spectacular scenery and is designated an Area of outstanding Natural Beauty. This largely rural county has a fascinating heritage and where you will find mediaeval castles and villages and towns full of character. With its largely uncrowded roads, this is the perfect place to cycle, ride, explore and of course walk and where you can enjoy the Penine Way National Trail or the Derwent National Cycle Route.

Durham can be readily explored on food yet offers a wide variety of shops and facilities including craft shops and a multi-purpose hall which regularly hold concerts and dramas. Its cobbled market place is well known for its street entertainment and Durham regularly wins prizes for its glorious floral displays which decorate the city in the Spring and Summer.
